Boiana
Boiana is the head volkhva of Mokosh from the village of Staraya Sloboda. She is also the head weaver in a village populated by representatives of various crafts. Lastly, she is the mentor of Vasilii Strannik, and his initiator into the goddess' cult.
Boiana sent Vasilii from Staraya Sloboda to learn about an altercation between priests of Perun and some servitors of Rurik Halfdansson, who is a Gaalite. She subsequently learned from from Vasilii that the priests of Perun in Zaozerye and the priests of Veles in Ladan' have initiated a war against Gaalites. She has prophesied that the war will not end well for the Old Faith, and has no wish to take part in it. She was, however, convinced by Vasilii to travel to Ladan' to speak to Radogast, if only to prevent Veles' minions from attacking him.
She is a woman of indeterminate age - her face is careworn, but her blue eyes seem ageless. She is known to be able to turn into a cat.
