The Sprigs
The Sprigs are the smaller, more curious offspring of the Dweorgs and relate little to their cousins. While the Dweorgs find comfort in their holes, the Sprigs make their homes in trees and shrubs. More keen on experimentation, Sprigs will use their curiosity to construct strange little contraptions to help them in hunting or basic construction. Rarely is there a Sprig that leaves the cold comfort of Durram, but some do venture south to civilization. There they are pitied for their stature and their minds, but are equally favored for their will to experiment and learn though it may end in failure.
A Sprig is an unlikely accomplice, a unique partner, and a universally underdeveloped social species. Still, some Sprigs use this to their advantage by becoming invisible criminals that stalk the remains of Leofric and beyond.

Anatomy
Sprigs are between 3 and 4 feet tall and weigh around 40 pounds.
Growth Rate & Stages
Sprigs mature at the same rate as humans, and most are expected to settle into adult life around the age of 40. They can live to 350 years on average, but it's not too uncommon for them to reach 500 years of age.
