Lapita

Stemming, actually in a literal sense, our infrastructure this crystalline material has a central role in our industry. Not only it first sped up and secondly easened our transportation, construction and travelling since we discovered it's floating ability achieved through it's activation. Also it is since long used for various tool, as well as decoration.

Material Characteristics

Lapita is a goldish yellow to brown crystalline material. It's colour depends on the pureness of it, purer being bright yellow-orangeish. A pure piece is a quite lovely view. When you hold one into the sunlight only the warm goldish part passes and the shimmering of the stone is lovely. This also leads to the eastern side of the City Hall of Lucem being covered by numerous panels of it. A great picture!

Physical & Chemical Properties

I've spent quite some time researching the properties of this precious material. It is comparable to the density of various rocks, but I would say heavier than average. The attribute of being exceptional tough make it a good material for tools like knives, but at some point of stress it just brittles away to dust quick. Sunlight passing through remembers, in effect and appearance, of the light emitted by Divasa and Atupun although it is a lot weaker.

When activitated via a complex, draining ritual, the influence of Divasa, this takes very long, or if the rare opportunity to do it through the opening of Atupun offers it repels other matter.

Compounds

Appreciated for it's hardness it is processed to tools, mainly knives for precise uses or for processing other materials that are quite tough and thus hard to cut or form. It's used too as part of jewellery due to it's alluring looks and as a charm as it's seen as connected to the gods' power.

The newest usage is for the Floating Carts and similar devices after being activated, greatly improving our prodictivity. Since then the rare material is only used consideratly for tools and jewelry, commonly the small shards from preparing the floating stones are used for these now.

Geology & Geography

It's found in the ground and Caves of Edi. A rough and dangerous environment, additionally it is pretty scarce. So when a miner finds a vein it's quite an event, he is said to be blessed with luck after this. Probably due to it's dissolving nature it isn't found above and close to the surface.
