The Bleeding Blade

Travelers to the city, especially those who come and go by ship, are inevitably directed to the Bleeding Blade. A relatively new establishment, it was half built and half converted into a colossal inn. The first proprietor was Eli Delacroix, a veteran from the war whose sword killed so many Anuar that it became cursed. It whispers horrible secrets to whoever wields it, gives them nightmares, and bleeds profusely when murder and mayhem are imminent. Instead of casting it into the sea or a volcano like a sensible person, Eli put it on the mantle of the inn and made it a namesake. The inn's tavern has four floors and an excellent view of the sea from the front facing half. The street level has a large common room between the main bar and the hearth. Balconies wrap around the common room and more private dining areas can be found behind the hearth's chimney on each level. The atmosphere is relaxed during the day and festive long into each night. The inn employs hundreds of entertainers year round and guest performers from abroad in the summer. The food is famously good and affordable year round. The inn has a brewery, still, and winery nearby to supply its own quality beverages and it has a long list of imports and finer local brews. A large complex of rooms, cheapest at street level with luxurious penthouses on the top (7th) floor, house people from all walks of life and all parts of the world. Mostly traveling sailors and working class people live at the street level, adventurers above that, and visiting diplomats and celebrities live on the top floors.
