Common Dress code

Men

Men typically wear a tunic, a waistband, knee-length leggings, and sandals. On cold days an under-tunic, full-length leggings and socks are added. Freeborn men can wear a copper ring as a mark of citizenship. Wealthy men can wear other rings decorated with glass beads or gemstones.

Women

Women typically wear a stola gown made of linen, silk, or wool either plain-woven or twill-woven with tablet woven trim on the top and bottom of the fabric. The top of the dress is held together with broaches. The waist is held in by a belt. When the weather is cold a plain undertunic and knitted leggings are worn. Women's jewellery tends to be more flamboyant than their male counterparts. Bracelets, necklaces, and hairnets often incorporate glass beads or precious stones in bright colours to match their clothing.

Coming of Age Rites

When a young free man comes of age he is given a PLUIEOO(life ring) made of copper. This ring is considered proof of the wearers status as a citizen giving them a right to vote in certain situations. Wearing someone else's ring is considered identity theft.
