Old Problem, New Solution

Traversing the Gentari is a tough undertaking, even for a well-adapted lizardfolk. For generations there have been many tools to aid them on this journey from sandsleds that can carry extra supplies to clothes designed to help regulate temperature but in recent years some enterprising young lizardfolk have created a new way to traverse the sands.

Inspired by the Harani that came to Kestatol, some youngsters created their own sails and attached them to some sandsleds. There were many issues that needed to be solved from the first design and over time they did make many revisions. The first problem is that there was no way to steer the vehicle, that was fixed by mounting the sail to a pole that could turn. The sled was refined into a shape that had less contact with the sand to reduce friction and increase speed.

Better or Different?

Some older members of the clans don't trust the new sandsails for their desert travel. They claim that they have too many vulnerable parts that they cannot trust.

Supporters of the sails say that even if it does break, the rope from the sails can be used to pull it like a sled and that it is only at worst the same as the old way while offering more benefit in normal operation.
