Theilas, Goddess of the Sea and Earthquakes

Part of the Hellanic Pantheon and proud Child of Seiropia, Theilas possess the coursing rage from the blood of Seiropia, and thus she has channeled it into the very oceans and seas she holds as her domain. With a hunger and rage that is barely ever satiated, the rolling waves of a storm are seen as an occurrence of her wrath, while the calmness of an open sea are but a reflection of her ever-changing mood. It was claimed that in the time before the severance, a great palace could be found below the waves off the coast of Helathen, where she resided for a time.

Sailors, Fishermen and those that rely upon the sea for their wealth all give their worship to the great queen of the sea. The Worshippers of Theilas know that blessings must be given to her before a journey is ever made out into the great blue; failing to do so will result in your ship never returning to port. Some priests have been known to be employed by shipyards to bless their vessels throughout production.

Theilas is most often depicted as a Golden Triton, her form wrapped by silver nets and shells.

Holidays

The Great Tide - 1st of Theilios
As the Winter period enters in, the Sailors come back to shore with no designs to return until the new year. On this day, ships are docked into place and Priests dedicate offerings en-masse to their deity, normally vast quantities of blood from sacrificed fish life, praying that the coming year will be bountiful. Locations that pay tribute to Theilas will often feast purely upon sea food at this time.
