Wolf Safehouse

The werewolves are infamous for their paranoia. They trust no one, prepare for the worst, expect disaster, and never leave themselves backed into a corner. As such, they have a safehouse. It's the main gathering point for wolves in the Philadelphia Area. There's a few others, farther out, but this is the nearest for city residents.   On the surface, the safehouse serves as a place for the wolves to live together or at least near each other. They typically gather here on the full moons for their forced shifting, running under the light of the full moon. They'll gather here for wolf holidays like Wolfenoot. They'll evecuate here in the event of war or an attack. It's their place to build their numbers and fight back against anything, everything they find that could possibly go wrong.

Purpose / Function

The Safehouse is exactly what the name sounds like: it's a safe place for the wolves to gather. More than that, it acts as a headquarters for the pack. They can coordinate their activities here, take cover here, hide here, and fight from here. The safehouse is designed to repel and mislead invaders. In the event of a nuclear war, it's even built to take a nuke on the chin and still be standing. In the event of Ragnaroc, the end of the world, the safehouse is intended to arm and deploy the wolves for battle. There's extensive military equipment stashed here, weapons, both conventional, magical, and silver-based to fight nearly any enemy.   In good times, it's warm shelter and home, and in the end times, it'll be the last home the wolves know before going out to face their death.

Architecture

The Safehouse is an underground home built into the side of a mountani. The entries are protected by narrow rockfaces, doorways designed to blend in with the rocks around them. Internally, the bulk of the structure is carved straight from the rocks around it. Decorative elements of wood are added, creating a log-cabin like atmosphere. It tends to feel warm and cozy.   The main areas are the living room and dining hall They take up the bulk of the public space. The dinner halli is equipped wit centuries old tables, worn and scratched by wolves over the centuries. They're built of thick, heavy wood, a design inspired by Vikings or perhaps the greatest of German craftsmen. They were meant to last. The wolves have tested just how well they'll last, having at times, fought in the dininghall and so far failed to actually destroy them. It's a good sign that they remain sturdy as a bunker. There's an immense fireplace at one end of the dining hall, big enough to fit a cow. It's sometimes used to cook dinner. The wall next to that features a breakfast bar, that's often used as a buffet counter, connected with the kitchen.   The living room is an area of large couches, beanbags, and other comfy chairs. There's a gigantic TV and a fireplace for the wolves to enjoy. Some have pushed to have a few movienights there. It's a generally comfy atmosphere to relax in and be together. It's perhaps less used than it should be.   On the next floor down, there's rooms. Lots of rooms. Each room features a bed, private bathroom, tv, and either a fireplace or an old fashioned potbelly stove. They're very comfy. Some rooms are larger, full on apartments, permitting wolves to have more independence from the goings on of the rest of the group. They try to have an option for everyone.   Another floor down and there's the first traces of something different: military supplies. Weapons lockers, a med bay, and a blast door on the stairs. There's cutout walls, designed to offer space to shoot, while remaining behind heavy cover. This is the first stage of the wolves retreating if someone breaks in. They'll coem down here and make it a living hell to get at them. This floor also features a tunnel connection, it leads out to several other tunnels, another maze. These can lead the wolves safely out of the area or to nearby garages.   Lastly, below this yet, there is the Bunker. The wolves used the bunker once, after Battle Island. It is as the name implies, a bunker. It's built about 2000' below the main wolf house. It's fully independent, powered by geothermal power, with recirculating air, air scrubbers, air tanks, and supplies to grow a garden for fresh air. There's a large gym/track area painted to mimick the outdoors. Truth be told, the pack doesn't plan to spend long in the bunker. It's a stop gap, a place to wait while the bombs drop. After that, they plan to be back out again.
