Battle Island

Following the The Heroes' Summit, massive outbreaks of villainy spread over the city. A group of heroes was sent to two probable sites where the villains were organizing. They discovered a far more deadly problem waiting for them: components for Interconntinental Ballistic Missiles and plans for an immense bioweapon.
The heroes pursued the villains to an island in the Delaware Bay, dubbed Battle Island. They found an immense fortress planted there. The Lab put out a call for all able-bodied enhanced people to help. The bioweapon would kill all enhanced people if it had its chance to go off. This had to stop.
Between the forces of the Lab, the heroes, and The Philadelphia Pack, the day was survived. The villains successfully launched their missiles, but not without tampering. Dr.Rush managed to fill some of the missiles with an antidote, a counter agent. Some of the missiles were even shot down by the lab's defenses, but by then, it was too late.
The poison spread over the world. Rush's cure countered the poison. The net result was a massive uptick in enhanced humans rising up all over the world. Mutations in existing heroes, a new era of humanity had just been rushed in.
The United Nations brought charges against Rush and launched an investigation into the lab.
