Virgil

Virgil is the Werewolf Keeper. There is a keeper for seemingly every subject, regardless of how minute. His work documents the wolves in every conceivable way. He knows their history, their origins, sthe innermost workings of their biology, and more. Arguably, he knows more about werewolves than any other creature, even their creator, Artemis. His interests have gone so far as to use magic to alter himself to have wolf-like traits. He has fur, golden eyes, canine ears and paws, even a tail. It is as close as he can get to being a wolf, without actually being a wolf.   His dedication to his work can leave him stunted as far as human social norms go. He can be blunt, say things at the wrong time, or use peculiar phrasings. His area of study is the wolves and not humans. His mannerisms are not out of place for a Keeper, somewhat self-obsessed with his work, but not intentionally rude.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Virgil's early years focused on field study. For a significant portion of his life, he was intent on being that one in a million who broke the Dark Elf mold and went out into the world. For a time, he was successful. He studied humans and society, becoming excellent at transformational magic to perform deeper studies. He was able to break into ancient palaces with stealth and skill that would rival a Raven.   These early studies would lead him to encounter his first Werewolf. The event had an almost spiritual significance to him, seeing the beast in the woods. He experienced genuine fear, but was not harmed. That he survived has lead to an everlasting curiosity. He wanted to understand why he had survived. The humans he had met referred to the wolves as unstoppable beasts. Rarely encountered, few in number, but nonetheless deadly.
