Althia
Althia's parents were colorblind. This would have been fine, except they were also superstitious. And so they wished upon a comet for the conception of their first (and only) child to be successful. It was a difficult birth, the child having serious respiratory troubles, but the child's parents were undaunted. They tried apothecaries, they tried consulting the House of the Arcane, they even went to witches, but all came away that the child's lungs were too broken, too damaged to heal.
Fearing that their offspring would die young, the parents gave the name Child to the sickly one, hoping to not get too attached lest Child die young. Years passed and despite every breath being painful, and living with parents who kept Child at arm's length; the young one grew - following tutorage and still searching the continent for a solution to their problem. It was on this journey that they met the witch Agava, who gave them guidance and safety and encouraged them to take a name.
Their journeys had taken them all over the 'known world' and they had picked up a small bird Timus, and though their heart longed to call themselves something, a name did not seem right just yet. Instead they traded to a tattoo artist in the Lower city of Natare and marked their back with an image of their Salit friend.
It was while hunting rumors of Demontail up near the gates to Solaris, on a journey home but also on a detour to discover what made Timus unique, that Child took their first steps towards becoming Althia. Approaching too close and with too much joy, glimmer had begun to circle Child and the demontail swarmed around them, burning their face and arm. Luckily, a group of Infertanis worshippers were nearby, and used their vehicle to quickly rush Child to their community. Their apothecary cut the fabric from the burns and soothed them with potions and ointments, but the smoke was playing havoc with Child's lungs. So they brought Child to the Eternal Flame of their community, and Child was reborn as Althia.
For the next decade Althia studied under the community, visiting Agava so that her outside could match her inside, and slowly creating her body, and the ritual scar-dial over her stomach and navel. She moved up through the ranks, and was soon on a journey to Whencis, to create a new community there as head priestess. It was at Whencis that her public face as one of the more lucrative traders emerged, though her breathing problems never faded.
Aw, I love her. As an asthmatic, I relate. XD

I almost had the asthma go with the fire ritual, but seeing your love I'm glad it stayed.
