Personal history

Vespa grew up to a single mother in western Cinteve. Her parents were both mercenaries and her father ran off when Glada was still an infant and thus she was raised by her mother alone.   Unfortunately raising a child is not a suitable task for a sellsword and Vespa ended up taking heavy abuse from her mother who constantly belittled and harassed the girl due to their economic problems that her mother inevitably laid at her feet.   On top of this Vespa was instilled with a hatred of homosexuals due to her mothers frequent rants on the subject. This childhood twisted the girl into a hateful wreck of a human being.   Eventually Glada grew up and upon reaching the age of 16 she ran away from home to sign up as a mercenary herself and get as far away from her mother as possible. Over the next 10 years or so she worked her way up through the ranks of the Lost Shields until she eventually reached the rank of captain.   As a captain she treated the men under her harshly, like a strict mistress. The women she treated with a brutality that became notorious among members of the Lost Shields. Women assigned to Glada's group were often killed or left the mercenary company shortly after.   During an assignment in the Larcian province of Annwyn, Glada was given command of a group of defenders for a logging camp at the edge of Annwyn Forest. While there her camp was attacked and routed by a group of adventurers from the Northern Lights Adventuring Guild leading fae rebels serving Suilyr Annwyn.   The logging camp was lost and Glada retreated to Dufour Castle, where the rest of the Lost Shields were located. She was then assigned an assassination mission again Suilyr Annwyn. She almost succeeded in this but was again thwarted by the adventurers under the command of Safiya Crowe. After being captured the centaur Theodosia, a former subordinate of Vespa, decided that she had gotten off easy for her past actions. The centaur crushed the girls legs under her hooves, breaking the bones and crippling the girl permanently.   After interrogation about the rest of her company the Adventurers proceeded to free Annwyn from Edmund Dufour and then secured Suilyr Annwyn as the rightful ruler of the Dufour Duchy (Renamed to the Annwyn Duchy).   At this point it became clear that Glada would rot in the prison. With crippled legs her life as a mercenary was quite over. Lorelei Reinzstrein, one of Safiyas companions, felt pity for the former mercenary and decided to attempt to help her. She promised to heal her as best she could.   Over the next few months Glada moved with the adventurers back to Heyfield and began the long slow road to recovery. She has also started to come to terms with her own psychosis and her heavily bottled up homosexuality.
