Rezuslic

The Rezuslic are a subset of the Ozuslic who returned to their uninhabitable homeland following The Great Invasion.

History

The Ozuslic Schism

Following the retreat of the invaders, the Ozuslic split into two groups: those who were content to remain in Leland and those who were angered by the outcome of the war and refused to integrate into a society that had engineered the destruction of their homeland. That group, calling themselves the Rezuslic, chose to return to the smoldering remains of their home.

Home Again

The Rezuslic returned to a land poisoned by wildfire, their villages in ruin. Life was very difficult, something they continued to blame on Carina Ahyen and the others who had enacted the plan to save Leland. A swampy area that was previously avoided by the Ozuslic was deemed the only place it would be possible to build their lives anew.

Seclusion

Following the return to the Wasteland, the Rezuslic were never seen again by outsiders. They know nothing of what came of the outside world except for what they've gleaned from captured trespassers over the years.

Culture

Aggression toward Outsiders

The old forests of the Ozuslic, while confusing and mysterious, were largely full of illusions and harmless tricks. This changed when the Rezuslic returned. They became actively hostile toward any outsiders. Those that survive the outer defenses of the Wasteland are met by mirages created by illuminates and, for those most unlucky, the traps of transaurants. Anyone captured by the Rezuslic are used as test subjects for their poisons. Any imperants who happen to find their way into Rezuslic hands will wish they were already dead.

Poisoning the Wasteland

The Rezuslic herbateurs fostered the return of vegetation where they chose to rebuild their lives, but their hostility toward outsiders led to them sabotage the regrowth of the rest of the area. They developed plants that were dark and twisted, responsible for choking the life out of anything else that might try to grow. They poisoned water sources to kill anyone or anything that might try to drink from them. To prevent any chance that these changes might be reversed naturally, the Rezuslic regularly reinforce their modifications.

Poison Cultivation and Immunity

While the Ozuslic were known for their cultivation of plants for medicinal purposes, the Rezuslic also began developing poisonous plants, other ways to deter outsiders from wandering in. As a society, they also have developed a method for becoming immune to the poisons they develop, and wearing trimmings of poisonous plants is considered a point of pride--the more plants you're able to wear, the more respect and influence you have in society.
