Cansonism

Cansonsism is a religious philosophy derived from the beliefs of the Cesnockwe. It is now the state religion of Cesland and is widely practiced across southern Leland.   The primary beliefs of Cansonism are:
  • There is no greater, omniscient, sentient power controlling the world.
  • The world is energy given physical form due to the randomness of the universe, including all life.
  • Energy has memory and is attracted to that for which it has a fondness.
Cansonists believe in the invisible connections between humans and the world around them.

Mythology & Lore

In the beginning there was only an ancient energy. Then energy took physical form in the planets, the stars, the sun--Geonature. Light spread from the heat of the newly formed worlds. Composition took hold in the crevices of the earth, changing the very existence of the universe. Streams of water and molten metals forged their way through channels, spurred by Flux.  Then Flora took root within the physical world. From that life evolved Aura, the nature of sentient life interacting with the energies surrounding it. As life progressed it brought Melody and Persuasion as a means of communication and connection. This evolution, energy making its way into a manufactured universe and connected with all around it, is forever ongoing. One day another form of enmanity will reveal itself, allowing humans to make another step towards oneness with the ancient energy from which they came.

Divine Origins

Cansonism is believed to be one of the oldest religions in Leland, having developed in southern Cesland some time in the 3000s AN.

Worship

Worship in Cansonism is primarily done through meditation on the nature of the universe. This is traditionally a morning ritual done by the whole family as one, but it can be performed at any time and any place during the day. Places of lodging in Cesland will typically host a morning meditation to support this tradition.

Priesthood

Cansonism has no formal priesthood, though there are those who congregate in the few temples around Cesland and meditate as a way of finding further connection with the energy of the universe. When these individuals reach some form of epiphany they will then travel southern Leland to share their gained knowledge. Usually one of these individuals is appointed to the federation council of Cesland to act as the primary Cansonist authority in government matters.

Granted Divine Powers

While not inherently a religious gift due to occurring in non-Cansonists, Cansonists believe that twice gifted individuals have a deeper connection to the world around them. It is believed that as humanity as a whole becomes more connected with the world that thrice gifted people will begin to appear, followed by those who possess more and more gifts until all of humanity possesses all seven enmanities.
