Bekele Al'Haven is the sovereign of the West Jirithkaen province. Outside of their political status, Al'Haven is well known as a poet, a collector, and a romantic.

When they were 19, Al'Haven worked as a personal assistant to a member of the West Jirithkaen Senate. Six years later, they ran for the position of sovereign and was elected as head of the entire province. Their ten year term of office is set to expire in 1898.

Accomplishments & Achievements

At 25, Al'Haven became the youngest Jirithkaen sovereign to ever be elected. Although they had limited governmental experience at the time, they won a large group of supporters through their intellect and charisma.

As someone raised in a household of blended cultures, Al'Haven strongly believes that their province should be a home for all people regardless of their background. As sovereign, they have striven to bring new opportunities in education and employment to citizens across the province.

There are many situations in which their charisma is not enough to hold together their bold and ambitious plans. Although they have tried to improve their province, Al'Haven is far from a perfect sovereign. They have made numerous political missteps through inexperience, overconfidence, and poor judgement.

Al'Haven's mother is Eddel Al'Omaran, a natural scientist and philosopher who imparted her love of poetry to her only child. Their father was Ramesh Yelande, a prominent Jirithkaen banker who taught them the skills in business before his death when Al'Haven was fifteen.

They chose to take the family name Al'Haven-By-Salt-Waters, usually shortened to Al'Haven, after their city of birth in accordance with the traditions of their mother's Qiri'tali heritage.

Social Aptitude

Al'Haven has gained a widespread reputation as an incredibly charming individual. Although they had only briefly worked as an assistant to a West Jirithkaen senator, they quickly gained the friendship and support of many governmental officials who helped them rise to the position of sovereign. They can easily slip into conversation with anyone, and has a way of winning the grudging admiration of even their political enemies.

Al'Haven's reputation for charisma is only matched by their reputation as a romantic. They are more than happy to flirt with just about anyone, although they rarely pursue these relationships any further than that.

However, they have had a few serious relationships with a North Jirithkaen senator, a spice merchant, and a fellow poet. They do not currently have a partner, although there are rumors that the sovereign may be involved in a secret relationship.

Hobbies & Pets

They have an entire room in their home dedicated to their extensive insect collection. Al'Haven picked up their interest in natural sciences from their mother, and uses their spare time to read about exotic species of butterflies and beetles.

Al'Haven has also a well known poet and has published three books, all of which have been moderately successful.
