North Jirithkae
Structure
Like the other three Jirithkaen provinces, North Jirithkae is governed by a Sovereign and a provincial senate. The Sovereign of North Jirithkae is elected every ten years and holds the executive power to grant titles, propose laws, and make emergency decisions. However, they can still be outvoted by a senate majority.
History
The land now known as North Jirithkae was once the Kingdom of Rhenace. After the conclusion of the four year Rhenacian War in 1812, the Jirithkae conquered the kingdom and absorbed it into its growing empire. The territory was renamed North Jirithkae and was given its own senate and Jirithkaen sovereign to govern it.
At first, the citizens of the former kingdom were strictly controlled by the ruling High Sovereign Varun Patekar and the Jirithkaen government. Noble families were executed, and Rhenacian citizens were stripped of many of their freedoms.
During the Silver Revolution the following year, Rhenacians fought back against the tyrannical rule. They were joined by many working class Othkaens and Jirians, who were just as furious at their High Sovereign for his strict laws, crippling taxation, and apathy toward his people that he had displayed throughout his reign. The rebellion eventually succeeded. High Sovereign Patekar was executed, and Jirithkaens of all background spent the following years trying restore their nation.
Although the land is still a part of the Jirithkaen empire, its culture has shifted back to a familiar way of life. The government doesn't interfere with citizens' traditions or religion, and the province is even led by a Rhenacian sovereign.
Demography and Population
North Jirithkae is a primarily rural area. There are several large cities, but most people live in small villages scattered across the open plains.
The majority of citizens are Rhenacians whose ancestors lived in the area back when it was an independent kingdom.
However, a significant minority of permanent residents are Jirians and Othkaens who moved there from the southern provinces.

Territories
North Jirithkae is covered in wide open plains and rolling hills. There are very few forests in the area, which is a striking change from the thick jungles of the neighboring two provinces.
