LoE 2.3.2: Acquisitions

LoE 2.3: Moons and Minds of Minos

The Team enters the asteroid base and lays a trap for the none-the-wiser shuttle. A running battle ensues where they slowly wear down the kidnappers, who almost make it to the service exit. Unfortunately, Tatum and security team are on the other side of the airlock door and the remaining kidnappers give up. It turns out that the XO working with the kidnappers has served in the same Special Forces unit as JR.   The baddies know nothing about who the original requester of the extraction was, only that Captain Bob Hawks gave the order. The Captain isn't here currently, he went off an "acquisitions run." He will likely return in a week or so.   Nora, the Team healer and telepath, wakes up just long enough to warn the Team to leave the asteroid since they have accomplished their mission and so they take off for Dometown Delta.

Meta Notes

This was a particularly challenging adventure on the IRL side of the wall. First, I allowed a friend (my brother actually) to come on board as the active antagonist - he played the kidnappers who were trying to escape a desperate situation. The combat lasted the entire session (it was composed of several scenes since it was a running combat) and I'm hoping everyone had fun at least on that front.   Also, one player wanted to be an actively secret antagonist/saboteur, which I informed him that I didn't think that it would go well with the group, but we bought it to the Table. Before we voted upon the matter, I informed the group that I was strongly against the matter because this game was clearly and intentionally a Christian oriented RPG and I felt like betrayal was simply NOT a Christian trait. Furthermore, the characters are highly competent yet not all that well given to suffering of traitors and I believed it would be a rather harsh turn of events. When voted, the players agreed and a situation was averted.
