Plum Tree Onsen
The Plum Tree Onsen is located at the heart of Plum Tree Onsen Village , surrounded by a picturesque landscape of steep hills and dense forests. The onsen is nestled in a natural depression in the terrain, creating a serene and secluded environment that adds to its mystical allure.
Hot Springs: The onsen consists of a series of naturally occurring hot springs, with steaming, mineral-rich waters that are renowned for their therapeutic properties. The springs are arranged in cascading pools of varying sizes and temperatures, connected by gentle streams and small waterfalls. The water is crystal clear, with a slight bluish tint due to the minerals dissolved in it.
Island and Sacred Plum Tree: At the center of the largest pool is a small, rocky island, which hosts the village's sacred plum tree. Despite the cold climate of the region, this lone plum tree thrives, its gnarled branches producing delicate blossoms that are a deep, vibrant pink. The tree is considered the protector of the village, believed to be inhabited by a powerful kami that watches over the residents.
Surrounding Flora: The area around the onsen is lush with vegetation, including tall evergreens, bamboo groves, and various shrubs that provide a rich green backdrop. During the colder months, the hot springs create a mystical mist that hangs in the air, giving the entire area an ethereal quality.
