Plum Blossom Shrine

Ume no Hana Jinja, the shrine is a beautiful example of traditional Shinto architecture, constructed primarily from wood and stone. It features a thatched roof, wooden pillars, and intricate carvings depicting plum blossoms and other natural motifs. The shrine complex includes a main hall, a smaller worship hall, and several auxiliary buildings for the priests and caretakers.

The Island: Where the sacred plum tree kami is enshrined. Inside, offerings of rice, sake, and plum blossoms are regularly made to honor the kami. The hall is adorned with sacred artifacts and decorations, including ema (wooden prayer plaques) and shimenawa (sacred ropes).

Worship Hall: The worship hall is open to villagers and visitors, who come to pray, make offerings, and seek blessings from the kami. The hall features a large altar and several smaller shrines dedicated to various deities associated with nature and protection.  This is at the bridge before the island.
Garden: Surrounding the shrine is a meticulously maintained garden, featuring stone lanterns, gravel paths, and carefully pruned trees and shrubs. The garden provides a tranquil space for meditation and reflection, enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the shrine.
Caretaker: Kaito Aiko
