The King's Death

This dagger belonged to Iohan and had been a present he got from his father for his sixteenth birthday. It soon became his favourite weapon, which he always carried everywhere. In 1213 CE, he used it to kill his brotherbut lost it when he was taken prisoner. Ionathar used it as a piece of evidence against his uncle, helping him to justify his verdict. After the trial, Jon chose to keep the dagger so he wouldn't let a Dragonsteel blade go unused. For him, it also became a reminder of Iohan's crimes.

On his journey to Soane, Jon opted to carry this dagger as his primary weapon rather than his sword, which would have given away his identity. During the confrontation in Soane, he wounded Iohan with it. In the Battles of the Angeleor Fields, Ionathar also had the dagger on him, though as a secondary weapon. In the second battle, he only used it in the duel against Iohan, after took his uncles' sword and Iohan attacked him with a dagger to keep the fight fair, but ended up killing Iohan with it.

For Jon and his family, the blade became a symbol of cruelty and jealousy. Other people who are closely affiliated with the royal family and familiar with what happened on the 17th of July 1213 nicknamed the dagger The King's Death because of what Iohan used it for. Those who know that Iohan was ultimately killed by the dagger that started his entire revenge mission find this fact rather poetic, but the blade will forever be considered a symbol of murder, intrigue and revenge. For Jon, it is also connected to a lot of anger and hatred.
