Hina's Band of Seven Military Formation in Lanternal | World Anvil

Hina's Band of Seven

The famous adventurer Hina Angelheart is an impeccable fighter and explorer on her own, but she couldn't have reached the heights of her renown without the help of her Band of Seven. Once known simply as "Hina's Companions", then "Hina's Band", the group of followers grew over the years in both number and renown of their own. The First Members to join Hina on her many adventures met her in her teens and have been with her ever since, and by 825 ER the Band had recruited seven members total, each from their own unique background and lineage.

The Members

Gallyon, the Druid

When he first met Hina in 816 ER, Gallyon knew she was nothing but trouble, and to this day he insists he is still correct. Gallyon was still a fledgling druid when he formed the Band with Hina and Alix. Like Hina, Gallyon grew up in adversity as an orphan Half-Elf. With no family or connection to elf culture, he studied the druidic arts to survive the wilds until he met his lifelong friends.

Alix, the Warlock

The Dhamphir Alix Ressot was raised in secret by her human mother and vampire father. When she came of age to understand the reasons why she had to hide from society, she went to the pond where she often sat alone. Tossing rocks into the water, she made a wish on the ripples that her parents could be somewhere they didn't have to hide. The voice that answered was that of an Arch Fey that granted her wish without question. Alix's parents where whisked away to the Fey Wild with no what for her to get them back. Pleading with the Fey they came to a deal, The Fey would grant Alix a bevy of powers and if she could convince him she was strong enough to open a gate to the Fey Wild, he would return the parents unharmed. Distraught, Alix met Hina and Gallyon the next day and the three vowed to become the worlds strongest hero's together.

Coral, the Tempest

In 819 ER, three years after the band was formed, Hina and her crew happened upon a dwarf struggling to ply their trade on the east coast of Nissea. Coral, a Lenonian cleric, spent his days getting paid to bless ships sailing off to Iothea Isle. Down on his luck and questioning his worth, he agreed to perform a blessing for the Aasimar's humble ship. Once on her ship and performing his duties, a freak storm suddenly formed and blew the ship out into the ocean. In the events of the storm and mysterious appearance of Lilura, Coral grew to care for the band as a family and Lilura as something more. When the ship finally made their way back to his home months later, Coral asked if he could stay with the Band, to which they resoundingly agreed.

Lilura, the Wave

When the storm that blew Hina's ship out to sea span and roared, an ocean wave struck upon the deck of the sailboat leaving behind an amnesic Genasi. With no memory of where she came from, Hina and the Band took care of the Genasi while she regained her memory. Weeks of high seas adventures and bonding with the Band did little to restore her memory, save for her name, Lilura. Obviously of some Dwarven descent, Lilura and Coral took to each other quickly and eventually fell in love. With no home to return to, Lilura officially joined the band the same day as Coral.

Talon, the Thief

In 822 ER, the Band of Seven began noticing items going missing from their ship quarters. Weeks of unexplained movements and missing gear went by before Alix discovered the culprit behind it all. A young Kenku had somehow snuck on the ship and remained unseen up until is capture. Impressed with his stealthy skills, the Band put him to task obtaining items of increasing obscurity to which he always completed. Eventually Hina gave in and agreed that the affectionately nicknamed kenku Talon was part of the crew, although he hadn't truly expressed desire to join. Talon grew fiercely loyal to his family of friends and will stick with them until the end, but with Talon's proclivity for building explosives that day may come sooner than the Band would like.

Keer, the Ancient Golem

When exploring the southern isles around Gievrys, Hina and the Band uncovered a buried ruin. Exploring through the forgotten structures they came across a stone-like figure nearly covered in sand. Digging him out and bringing him above ground, the ancient golem began to reactivate. The stoic Golem Keer thanked the Band for saving him but insisted he return to his monastery, clearly unaware of the centuries that had passed while he was dormant. Helping him come to terms with the state of the world, Hina offered Keer a place on her ship.

Finn, the Warrior

Finn isn't her real name, but when asked for her real name she simply laughs. When Hina and the Band happened upon the island of Lizardfolk in the Ptyrponean Sea they vowed to aid the Lizardfolk in their war against the Sahuagin. Finn the Lizardfolk stepped forward and demanded to travel with the Band to prove their devotion to the island's cause. In their next encounter on the sea against the Sahuagin, Finn put her life in danger to save Coral and Lilura. In that moment, Hina knew Finn was what the Band needed to grow and succeed in the Ptyrponean Sea.
