Allbridge - Gateway to the Fens
Sitting just off the western coast of the Great Lake, this independent town is built on wooden pilings and stilts. Allbridge lies just to the south of the mouth of the Casta River, the water route into the Fens. The town is the last stop for boats heading into the swamps of the Fens and witch country; as such, it does a brisk trade on cargoes going to and from that land. There is also an overland road into the Fens that starts at Allbridge, although "road" may be overstating it.
Demographics
Human, Lizardfolk, Salimar, and black Karhu comprise the majority of the population. There is a sizeable Dwarf population that work as militia for the town, or as engineers on the ships that ply the lake. While Elves and Goblins are rare, both heritages are welcome in the town.
Government
Allbridge is governed by an Assembly, comprised of the richest merchants of the town. Every five years, the Assembly elects one of their own as the Speaker of the Assembly. The Speaker presides over the Assembly and sets the agenda. Laws are passed by a simple majority.
Infrastructure
Allbridge deals mainly with trade. It is a hub between the cities and villages of the Wild Coast, the witch country of the Fens, and the Kingdom of Rosalind. From its position, Allbridge is a place where cargoes get bought and sold, and every transaction pays a small fee to the town.
