Military action
Hamish prepares his men for the horrors of the marsh and for the sacking of Ravahinas.
Hamish, still enraged from his brother's death at Jurejun, immediately took action upon the return of the southern dispatch's return. With every bit of knowledge they provided, he trained his men and began a colony-wide scale of preparations for battle. Women prepared storable food, children carved arrows, and adults trained for battle and conditions of the marsh. Letters were sent to Kanel, who questioned the validity of hunting down a people that had grown so separate from them. Indeed, Kanel had begun to regret his actions at Jurejun but did not want to blatantly state so. Hamish ignored this and continued his preparations. However, hearing of how horrific and exhausting the marsh was, his main hope was the element of surprise (which they had unwittingly lost already, leaving evidence of their presence behind). They managed to model new ships with their carpenters that would serve for better traversal in the shallow waters and blocked passageways. They had enough arrows to fight a full fledged civil war and ordered enough ships from the isles to create blockades around any open waterways out of the continent's southern and eastern borders. Kanel's council had to undermine his authority in order to get the build orders out, which he almost cancelled upon finding out. Once Hamish heard of the cancellation, the Strand-Bloods conveniently attacked Shellbay, convincing Kanel to resume the builds.
