The spread of the Kaban species after losing their Great Elder, Korahaman. Losing their central god, they fled to the one place their tormenters would not follow for the time being: Mot D'nir.

After losing their Great Elder, the Kaban had nowhere to go, as they had only known the beaches of Trinen for as long as their generational stories had told. Stuck in a temporary stasis, the Kaban had no way of fighting as the humans had capped their shells and feasted upon them. Having awoken to the atrocity, their minds were still one with Korahaman, so their defensive actions had been directly guided by their god incarnate. When it was slain, their final oneness ended. They practically awoke from their slumber only to see their Elder deceased in the night and had no guidance on how to proceed. As such, they fled in different directions, with the largest (and only surviving) portion traveling to the Scabbard Sea.   The Kaban's surprise at this short yet fateful week could not be understated. The entire species had lived lives of sloth, contentment, and fulfillment. Then one night, unknown foreigners destroyed their future, which had always been predetermined by their Elder. Due to Korahaman's design and organization of their minds, they had never known struggle, at least not beyond a year's reach.   Almost instinctually, the Kaban drifted lifelessly for days until reaching the Mot D'nir mountain border, as their tormentors were less likely to follow into the marsh. Small bouts of contact or the sight of human vessels would push them further into the swamps, where they would suffer the conditions of Mot D'nir. Fortunately, they were mostly left alone by the Naga-Tel and Tara-Jhen. They would eventually establish communities, working with the Thanids of the southwest region.
