Desecration of Jurejun

The declaration of Jurejun as a desecrated land by Kanel Logratte and the subsequent law sending criminals there to serve their sentences.

Jurejun had long been an obscure island drowned in mystery. When Narfi Whitefinger went, it drove him quite mad, raving about magic and demons. Magic itself was not a concept that humanity was attuned to at this point beyond using the Wishing Well, and the function of that was up to scrutiny. Given the rumors around the area, Kanel stated that the area was cursed by Ithitar that had slipped through Ornjack's orb. Namely, the chief devil "Milin Orphi had allowed them to enter." Stories told of Milin Orphi being locked in battle with Bailum several times, with Bailum always winning (but never slaying his foe). This was the danger that kept anyone from leaving the islands, aside from the Prisonkeep, though Warren the Chummer had presumably slain the Prisonkeep long ago.   While the storms beyond the island were still raging at all times, Kanel  saw fit to claim Milin Orphi had a "throne" in Jurejun. This served to keep people away from the island, but would also make it serve as sufficient punishment for exiled criminals. The devils and eldritch beings that may exist there would put fear into any man's heart, perhaps making a more loathsome punishment than death alone.
