Hamish's men attack the Tara-Jhen under the guise of being Strand-Bloods.

After the Saltkrigere were forced to retreat beyond the mountain range due to the loss of their commander (and many troops), they sent messengers back to Shellbay. Once Hamish was informed, he decided that the onslaught against the Strand-Bloods would be impossible without native allies of their own. Humans had to watch every step they made in the Marsh and almost always came out with some form of disease, especially infections of the feet that made combat difficult already.   Hamish was aware of the fact that the tribe that had prior imprisoned his men had interacted with the Strand-Bloods, as well as their rivalry with the Naga-Tel. If that group were to be pushed in the right direction, they could be coerced into fighting in the war. While there may have been more peaceful methods of achieving this, Hamish dictated that a ship was to use the Strand-Blood insignia and attack the Tara-Jhen. About ten spies were selected to man a small ship with the insignia anywhere they could fit it.   They were to use bows and arrows, ensuring they could kill at least a few individuals before crashing the ship into a region of Quai and their worshippers before setting the ship on fire (and much of the Quai with it). The Quai proved to be quite flame resistant but not immune. Several Tara-Jhen died while trying to put the fires out. One soldier died in the crash, 8 poisoned themselves to avoid capture, and one was to endure torture and feed the Tara-Jhen lies about the Strand-Bloods.
