Yunbad

The Yunbad were a species of intelligent apes, similar to orangutans, that never expanded beyond the mountains of Udundst. Though they are now extinct, their impact on the world is still felt today. They were the first mortal species to gain control over magics, which eventually contributed to their undoing.

Anatomy

Maximum height of 5'5'' and an average weight (estimated) around 165lbs.

Genetics and Reproduction

Yunbad only live 40-50 years and lose fertility around the age of 25

Growth Rate & Stages

Yunbad become self-sufficient around the age of 7.

Ecology and Habitats

Their only habitat was the mountaintop region of the Udundst mountains. They notoriously avoided the lower regions due to predators and were forbidden from going into the Eastern Deltas.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Though skeletal remains show they could have been omnivorous, they only ate vegetation in their culture.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They were thought to be somewhat dull compared to humans with regard to all senses, especially due to the fact that they had no native predators until the J'barri came along. They were, however, stronger on average than most other sentient species.
