J'tsan (juh-Tss-San)
Patron God of Proving
J'tsan is the Patron God of Brillé. His domain is that of proving, and he had the first of his pride prove themselves by crossing the arid plains of Renad. His people were promised a new lake that was created just for them. He was proven correct upon the end of their long and dangerous trek. A new lake of clean drinking water existed where none had before. His teachings reinforce a sense of nationalism (sometimes unfounded).
Like Ferrehet, J'tsan's teachings have grown problematic in the modern era. While Ferrehet posed a threat to public order due to teachings of conquest, the teachings of J'tsan have often resulted in self-mutilation, unlawful sacrifice, and dangerous fasts. Renad's most desperate individuals will push themselves beyond their limits believing that it will garner the attention of J'tsan to no avail. As a result, the various J'barri nations have taken different measures to ban or otherwise minimize harmful instances of proving.
Followers of J'tsan maintain a relationship similar to that of an employer and employee. Acts of devotion are to be consistent and substantial, which will be followed by your reward. The core difference comes from the reverence for J'tsan, which is expected to be respectful and confident. Many compare J'tsan to an opulent king rather than his fellow gods due to the nature of mortal interactions with him.
Domain
As the patron god of proving, J'tsan expects acts of devotion to be done in his name rather than for innate purposes. While many compare him to Ferrehet, the god of conquest reinforces taking for yourself and its own sake. By contrast, J'tsan inspires communities to behave in an orderly fashion and for a greater purpose (himself) and promises rewards to those who prove themselves in this fashion. The extent of his desire for proving and subservience to his image can be seen in architecture, the integration of church and state, and daily social interaction. Communities often attempt to appease him by showing their devotion, but he is typically stoic and distant in return. Many regard his silence and lack of communication as a lack of appreciation, though devotion is often rewarded with boons of inspiration, vitality, and good fortune. In general, J'tsan only desires appeasement; in return, he assists you with your own endeavors. Being the most transactional of Kinnet Eti, J'tsan's distance isn't surprising. Whether he holds true devotion to the J'barri or merely enjoys their reverence is unknown, though his followers don't believe the detail to be significant one way or another. Should an individual wish to consider themselves amongst his followers, the best way to begin gaining benefits is to commit "acts of proving." Such acts may include accomplishing difficult feats in his name, integrating his visage in icons, and sacrificing something both parties desire. Many texts refer to tithing to J'tsan as a "guessing game," as one must take a leap of faith that he will care about their offerings.Cultural Impact

Greatest Acts of Proving
The walls of Brillé are named after J'tsan and are considered the greatest acts of proving across Renad. According to myth, the construction of these walls was so substantial that the nation was gifted with permanent boons of power and protection, while the lineage in power was blessed with eternal prosperity. Conversely, when the final wall was built in the name of J'bar, the people of Brillé were severely punished by having their main source of water poisoned during The Mountainfold. Whether or not the initial prosperity was revoked due to their heresy remains to be seen, as the nation has been fiercely isolated for centuries.
