Avernus "Köttur" Sandhar
Emperor
Avernus Sandhar, often called "Köttur" (or "cat") due to his skittish nature, would succeed his glut of a father and inherit a land steeped in war. He was a largely incompetent ruler and had no knowledge on how to sate the the needs of Eldurgrund, Shellbay, or Saint's Maar. However, due to his passive manner of ruling, whoever whispered into his ear the most would typically steer the direction of the realm, and the council went from an honorary joke (especially compared to the court) to a highly sought after position with treacherous competition. Köttur would eventually decide to sate the people at his doorstep (Saint's Maar), but "secretly" instated a plan to allow Shellbay to rise again in the capital, once his son ascended the throne. Most of the Saltkrigere would be sent to their home at Shellbay while the best among them would remain in Saint's Maar, planting roots and pivoting to high political positions.
The secret plan was quickly uncovered by the court, as indentured Saltkrigere servants (all members or descendants of the loyal Saint's Maar military) were present and provided the information to those loyal to the overall realm, rather than Shellbay itself. The court ultimately decided to throw a revolution that was supposed to take 15 years to build, but it was sprung 5 years early when an earthquake took the life of Köttur.
