Miller's Crossing
General Information
Miller's Crossing is predominantely populated by farmers and farmland, flanked on either side by swiftly flowing rivers and marshland. The soil and temperature here make it the ideal place to grow cros, raise livestock and live quiet, content lives.Miller's Crossing earned its name thanks in part to the large grain mills that stand at the city's edges, these were among the first structures in the area, and many have to cross through this land in order to get between Burn Harbour, Wrain's Hall and Darholm.
Government
Since Miller's Crossing is mostly made up of farmers, the governing body in this city consists of a locally elected representative. Seeing as the people of Miller's Crossing aren't particularly politically minded, this representatives job mostly serves to inform the populace of the recent goings on in Mitlind Parliament and assert better compensation and working conditions for farmers across the country.
Defences
Miller's Crossing has little in the way of formal defences. Though many of the farmers are practiced at using their farming implements to defend their crops and livestock from predators or thieves. The city, in times of need, will band together to form a militia of farmer folk who all stand united with their pitchforks and scythes alike ready to cut down invaders.
Industry & Trade
Much of Miller's Crossing is made of farm land, thus the majority of trade done here is for food. While the city has its own bustling markets with merchants that boast about having the freshest produce in Mitlind, these market stalls all seem to coexist happily, as all of the farming folk seem to get along without stepping on one anothers' toes.
Geography
The land around Miller's Crossing consists of grassy plains and smooth hills, though the city is surrounded by wide rivers on all sides bar the south-east which is where the marshes begin. This flow of water keeps the land fertile and well irrigated meaning that plants are able to grow much quicker in this region.
