When she was an infant, a shaman of the Rënzhësirn was visiting the court of the toubewa, and she pronounced a blessing on Gamsoga. From that moment, the girl's eyes changed from brown to amber, signifying acceptance by the draconic powers. Though the event disturbed her father, Teruus Coubigus, his Rënzhëksirn subjects immediately loved Gamsoga and accepted her as one of their own.
Politically, this has been a tremendous boon to Coubigus, who has been able, as a result, to bring the Rënzhëksirn closer to assimilation with the Ebawecci humans who rule them. Gamsoga, herself, thinks it an oddity in her life, and nothing more.
