My definitely not last minute World Ember Pledge 2022

Oh man, is it that time again, i could swear that summer camp just ended and the week before that was last January's reading challenge. Well then, must be like they say, Time flies when your having rum (or something like that).   now with the fun stuff out of the way, on to the homeowrk that I definitely didn't procrastinate on until the last day, regardless of what I may or may not have said multiple times on discord and in other places.
Yup, just sitting at 10k again this year, but this year will definitely NOT be like last year where I just missed out due to procrastination (although I did hit around 7k in the last 2 days)   to answer the first set of questions   1. I only have the one world, but once again will be focusing mostly in and around everyone's favorite murder desert, the Myrdhor Desert. Less on the species this time on more on the inhabitants and the interaction with the nearby Sapphire Sands (which somehow do not yet have an article, BONUS).   2. campaign ideas and terrible fates for players and NPCs alike will like come out of this WorldEmber. especially with Catoblepon encouragin us to write dastardly and horrific conditions based of a mariad of symptoms hodge-podged together.   The discord (and more downtime and a better work schedule) shall keep me motivated (and definitely not help me procrastinate. looking at you guy in the mirror, no using discord to procrastinate)

Week 2

Scope and themes and mood. well, the Myrdhor Desert in general is a dark place, but there will likely be some uplifting stuff. after all The Ghostwalker Dwarves cant be all doom and gloom. THey literally live in a tropical paradise maintained by magical slightly deadly flying manta-rays.   Of course with the diseases there will probably be some fairly horrifying things also. Not to mention the relationship of the Demon's Eye nebula to the moons and the effects of them all on magic.   so yeah, grimdark with some horror and tiny rays of sunshine sprinkled in maybe. maybe more sunshine, maybe a plague of biblical proportions (besides the last one to hit Kohtalo, hooray The Plague of Scalding Dread)   But yea, warrior dwarf clan with strange connections to the Ethereal plane pledged to forever guard one of the World Trees from an endless stream of undead, both intelligent and not. that is mainly where we are focusing.

Week3

I mean, various teacher through out middle school and high school (grades 6-12 for those non-americans) tried to get me better at organizing. If i learned anything from them its that I am not an organized person. I will at least use the tag WorldEmber2022 for my stuff so I can hopefully find it later, and if i write about important NPCs they will hopefully get a character tag, but I am notoriously bad at organizing (and remembering to tag articles. That is how things get lost... as my spare keys would tell you if I knew where they were.   And to Janet, Roc, and Moro and everyone else who helped with the homework, or streams about the homework, or mentioned the homework on discord, of course the homework is helpful. It may just also trigger long dormant procrastination instincts. but that isnt my fault.
Week 4
on to inspiration. well, as many a nerd worldbuilder, lets just go with what I am currently playing, reading, watching, distracted by. So in no particular order   The Iron Druid Chronicles and Celtic mythology   Doctor Who   poisonous plants and algae (these are terrifying)   The Poppy War Trilogy   Jay Kristoff's books (specifically the Last Stormdance and Nevernight series)   The spictures from my Spooktober 2022 and Mapvember 2022 articles. as well as the blurbs and info that I have there. Most, if not all of these are likely to turn into full fledged articles during WorldEmber.
Here finally is a picture of a red panda excited for winter that MidJourney made for me. Because winter is the best season and snow is awesome
