World Trees

Honestly I recommend everyone visit one of the world trees if you get the chance. Granted, some are more accessible than others, but it gives a sense of... relative scale, i guess one would say, that you are unlikely to find anywhere else short of meeting a god.
— Jasper Cameron, Leader of the Bronze Ravens
Each world Tree is unique from the others, and yet all share commonalities. To see one is to be in the presence of creation, it is said.

Excerpt from "Life before Hell's Half-Acre: My Wandering Years" by Archimedes the androsphinx

...but nothing really prepares on for the sight of a world tree, even seeing a different one. I have seen them all, well, those we know of anyway. I am of the belief that at least one was destroyed when the Storm Giant's fell, and there are probably several in The Edge of the Map, but those, just based on location, are better protected than even The Five.     Yggdrasil, the Gallows Tree is perhaps the most famous and best documented. Found nearly due north from the mouth of the Glass River on the island that shares its name. It appears as a giant ash tree. Stretching Nearly 3 miles into the sky with its foliage providing cover for over a mile from its trunk in every direction. Held sacred in many cultures of the region, to include dragons, it is a place protected by many generations of spells and magic, to say nothing of the creatures that inhabit the tree itsself.   Next you have Jarvindartre, The Iron Tree. Guarded by The Ghostwalker Dwarves in ways that even I do not truly understand. Possessing the massive size of all the world trees, it most resembles a brilliantly purple desert ironwood tree, rising out of the Sapphire Sands. From the rare leaves that fall the Ghostwalkers craft their weapons and armor using techniques most similar to elven wood-singers.   Of course in the Feywillow Forrest you have the Shomorra, also called yax imix che, The Tree of Abundance. There are elves of Feywillow who have dedicated their long lives to the study of the tree, attempting to discern patterns in what fruits grow where in which years. I personally think that just goes to show that some elves can be just as stupid as other races, but then I havent checked up on them for over 4 centuries, so who knows, maybe they have found something....
