Legalism

Legalism – Rules determine ethics and morals whether those rules are laws, inalienable rights, or moral codes. Clearly knowing your rights, limits and responsibilities is essential for morality.   The strongest societies have clearly innumerated legal codes, rights and responsibilities. Legalists make for solid, cohesive groups and disciplined soldiers. Even vigilantes and criminals have their legalists who live by their own code or strictly enforce their expectations on their minions. Obviously, the ideal legalists are lawyers, judges, and guards.   STRENGTHS – Good for cooperation, societal strength, and cohesive systems of justice.   WEAKNESSESS – Can be subverted by loopholes, semantics, and blind spots.   EXAMPLES – The lawyer who can quote every law –and loophole- in the books, the Deminite cleric that knows every decree in the Canticles of the Demiurge
