Purpose

The Book of Blood Magic was a massive grimoire of old world magic, the work product of several lives spent in the pursuit of eldritch power at any price. While no intact copies are known to exist, partial copies and pages abound in the writing desks and libraries of liches and diablerists.

While not illegal per se, being caught with a page of the Book of Blood Magic is often enough to spark violence from a Witchfinder.
