Demarn Protection Rune

Whilst this symbol from ancient Demarn  bears no actual power in itself, the belief that it can fend off danger is deeply rooted within the kingdom’s citizens. For centuries this symbol has been used all over the land, often through crude carvings in a building's entryway or via gifting a pendant bearing the symbol to loved ones (romantic or familial).
The symbol has two variants, the original bearing an encompassing circle and one without, with the latter being used solely on pendants, which are also circular. Modern explanations of the imagery claim it represents a shield. However, few can deny the strong resemblance it has to the ancient Demarn rune associated with magical barriers.
