Authril ([Awe]-[Thrill])
Authril
Authril was born in the slums outside of Oldmarsh. Abandoned at birth, she was claimed by one of the local gangs and raised, at first, to be a lurer for unsuspecting travellers, then a pickpocket as she reached her teens. This life would be interrupted at the age of seventeen, when the thieving of a mercenary had her encountering Danny's Cutthroats. The mercenaries tracked her down to reclaim their stolen goods where their leader, Danny, offered her a position within his company after witnessing the ferocity of her fighting when cornered.
From then on, Authril trained as a warrior, becoming proficient in sword and shield combat. She adapted well to the lifestyle, despite clearly seeing Danny as a father figure rather than her employer, a relationship that went both ways. Through him, she learnt warfare and siege tactics. It was also likely that Danny's dislike of Udynea, and spellsters in general, fuelled her opinions. She flourished in other ways as well. Before joining the company, she had very little understanding of anything beyond the slums and their gangs. Surrounded by people more worldly than the gang leaders, she became focused on elven history.
But all her years with the company would be for naught as she became the sole survivor of the company, and the army in general, after the army encampment was razed.

Through her many years of excessive sword training and general battle experience, much of her physique is heavily muscled.
Identifying Characteristics
Her skin is heavily adorned in light brown freckles. These vary from a dusting upon her face, to denser collections at her shoulders and thighs. Her torso and limbs also bear numerous scars, many of them from shallow slashes or lashings. The most prominent scarring is the outcome of a scalding in her youth that encompasses her right shoulder.

Throughout her life, she kept her Oldmarsh slums pessimism, treating newcomers and strangers alike with suspicion or even hostility. This initial coldness softened when she entered into a long-term relationship with a fellow mercenary, only to resurface after his death.
