Crowned Dragoons

The Crowned Dragoons are an elite military unit chosen specifically to guard the King of America and Crown Prince.

The Crowned Dragoons were initially formed by Prince Louis Ferdinand as his own personal special unit. They gained national fame when they followed him into the Louisiana Territory. The death of the Crown Prince led to the start of the Franco-American War.

The Crowned Dragoons remained a military unit outside of traditional branches. Nicknamed "The Old Guard", they are mustered by the Army, but are made up of members across the military branches.

Composition

Equipment

The Crowned Dragoons are known for their ceremonial uniforms and their cavalry style helmets. Despite their name, they rarely operate on horseback in the modern times outside of official ceremony.

Logistics

Auxilia

There are two main distinct units of the Crowned Dragoons. Field Unit One protects the King and Queen, along with the immediate family at Columbia Palace. Field Unit Two protects the Crown Prince or Princess once they become of age at Red Palace. Though the rest of the royal family has guards that protect them as well, they do not hold field designations of the Crowned Dragoons.

Recruitment

Chosen among a rigorous recruitment process among the American military branches. The application process is similar to the Guard Company that stands sentry over the Chancellor and the Marine Security Guard that protects American dignitaries. Applications apply through their respective branches and are sent to a six month training regiment. All applicants must be citizens of the Kingdom of America, and hold no dual citizenship or titles of other nations.
