Catrachia
The Kingdom of Catrachia was a nation in Central America, consisting of the former regions of Grand Duchy of Central America, as well as Guatemala and Chiapas from the Republic of Mexico.
History
Following the annexation of Guatemala into the Grand Duchy of Central America, Antonio I, Grand Duke of Central America, declared the region to the elevation of Kingdom, symbolizing he no longer saw Kingdom of America as superior or influential. Antonio also entered into negotiations with Gran Colombia, who agreed to back Catrachia should a conflict with America arise. Antonio also inherited Guatemala's claims on Belize from Great Britain, which he saw as a declining empire.
With the southern border secured, Antonio looked north. Catrachia went to war against the Republic of Mexico for the region of Chiapas. They performed well, and secured the annexation of the region. Catrachia then secured a defensive alliance with the United Mexican States.
Disbandment
In 1932, the newly elected president of the UMS was assassinated. The Republic was quickly blamed, and the UMS declared war. Catrachia enetered as well, citing their alliance, and the War of Mexican Unification began. Catrachia entered Mexico City, declaring the formation of the Second Mexican Empire. The UMS was also incorporated.
