Oxenwaithe Mountain (Ox-EN-Wayth)

Though some 4,500 feet shorter than it's southern cousin, Wyvern Mountain, Oxenwaithe Mountain is one of the most important mountain locales in all of Zoluren's history, second only to The Fists.

Oxenwaithe Mountain is considered a Holy, and in some tribes, the most Holy, place of worship amongst their deities and pantheons, leading to hundreds if not thousands of treks to it's peak, known as the Silver Summit, each year.  Peoples of 'barbaric' tribes, such as orcs, ogres, minotaurs, goliaths and sometimes even more socially-oriented trolls, make the trek to the peak each year to gaze down upon the world, or to ask forgiveness or a boon from their respective gods.

Oxenwaithe Mountain's peak is the highest point in Zoluren, and the second tallest mountain amongst the Himhineldar Shel Mountain Range as it overlooks the massive expanse of the Valley of the Beyond.

Geography

Years of pilgrims have formed an almost-path along much of the ascent of the mountain, leaving only small portions still rugged.  Crevasses, deadfalls, avalanches, ice floes and other hazards still force the travelers to be wary as they attempt to reach the sacred Silver Summit, but the peoples departing from Harrogath at the mountain's base are often well equipped and hearty.

The slopes of the mountain are gentle, averaging around a 5% grade, which indicates to scholars from the Royal Society for the Exploration of the Natural and Physical World that Oxenwaithe was once a shield volcano, though it appears dormant and it's last eruption occurred prior to the Draconic Age, even before the written histories of The Old World.
