King Roger Vorclaf II
An elite tactician and supreme military commander, King Roger Vorclaf II was feared on any battlefield he presided over. However, unlike his son or his father, it was always his preference to avoid combat himself, allowing his soldiers to fight for him whilst he directed from the rear. This may have had to do with his near-death experience while still Crown Prince when he crossed swords with a frothing, raging Orcish barbarian who nearly killed him with a set of metallic claws, raking his face and permanently blinding him in his left eye, or perhaps when he lost his left hand after his shield was shattered by a massive greathammer wielded by a towering goliath.
During the many campaigns he fought in, continuing the legacy of King Roger Vorclaf I in subduing the hostile and barbaric clans within his lands, Roger II lost many, many soldiers, leading many of the men (behind his back, of course) to refer to him as 'Bloody Roger' or 'Roger the Red'.
Unlike many of his forebears, and his son and grandson after him, Roger II was a devout believer in Damaris, believing that guile and strategy could often win the day over brute strength and military might.
Like his mother, Aurelia Vorclaf, King Roger possessed the smallest spark of magic, able to conjure minor illusions (albeit with some difficulty), as well as mend exceptionally minor wounds with a touch.
