Nazara

Introduction

Nazara is a name long forgotten like a tiny star lost in the vastness of the night sky. The last who knew and worshiped her are now dust, and those few who still whisper her name no longer understand its meaning. Nazara lives on only in the fairy tales and myths that drift through Kena'an, comforting the young and guiding the wise. Though nearly every soul has heard stories of the lost princess, none truly grasp the truths hidden in them: Nazara is neither a fable nor a fragment of imagination. She is the goddess of hope and the future, the silent guardian of children.

Or at least… she was once.

Creation

Nazara's creation is a tale unlike any other. She was not crafted by another god, nor did she inherit her place in the pantheon. Instead, the lost princess appeared from nowhere, springing into consciousness as a manifestation of mortal hope and imagination; a goddess born from humanity's deepest dreams of the future. It was their visions that gave life to her, not the other way around. Before the Age of Purification, Nazara held immense power, a strength forged from countless whispered wishes and desires, and she became one of the mightiest among the gods, embodying hope itself.

But as the Age of Purification wore on- a turbulent five hundred year period marked by a great war among the gods- Nazara disappeared without warning, sometime in its middle years. Her clerics, once comforted by her gentle blessings, were met only with silence where her soothing voice had been. Prayers to the goddess went unanswered, and her presence faded from both mortal and immortal realms. At the end of the Age of Purification, the thousand-year Era of Silence began, during which all gods vanished from the world. Yet when the gods returned at last, Nazara was not with them. As the ages passed, her name slipped from memory, until both she and her faith became little more than faint whispers of a forgotten past.

Appearance

In her natural form, Nazara was a figure of sublime mystery, her essence woven into the very fabric of time. She bore three faces, each one a reflection of the eternal flow: one that gazed upon the past with the quiet sorrow of ancient memories, one that saw the present with the sharp clarity of now, and one that looked to the future with the infinite possibility of all that could be. These faces, ever-changing yet bound together, symbolized the goddess's dominion over hope and the unfolding of destiny.

When Nazara visited the mortal realms, however, she took a form far softer and more intimate: that of children, the purest embodiment of innocence and potential. Her form was ever-shifting, as if she might be any child, anywhere, at any moment- bringing with her the promise of the future, of dreams untainted by time or sorrow. In the guise of a child, Nazara would walk among mortals, her presence a silent balm to the weary, a whisper of hope to those who felt lost, and a reminder that, no matter the trials of the present, the future still held infinite possibilities.

Dogma

Nazara's dogma is not easily defined, as it encompasses the ethereal realms of hope, vision, and the future- concepts that transcend mortal understanding. Some stories even associate her with fertility and harvest, as she was once seen as a nurturing force. Yet with her disappearance, many gods attempted to claim her domain, though none could hold it as she once did. Nazara's teachings are simple yet profound: Love makes all things possible. She viewed love as the key to shaping a better world, the force that could unlock the future’s infinite potential.

Above all, Nazara is the protector of children, seeing them as the very embodiment of the future itself. Her stern belief was that in order to improve the world, one must see it through the eyes of childhood; through innocence, hope, and untainted possibility. To her, children are not just the next generation. They are the promise of all that was yet to come. And it was through their eyes that one could truly understand the potential for transformation and growth in the world.

Clergy and Temples

There is no concrete proof of what Nazara's temples and clergy truly looked like- only speculations drawn from fairy tales and folklore. According to these tales, her temples were said to be ethereal, their designs otherworldly, crafted from the very essence of hope and dreams. The grandest of these supposed cathedrals, it is said, doubled as hospitals, orphanages, and shelters, places where those in need could find comfort and care.

Her clergy, mostly women, are described as compassionate protectors of the future, though little is known about their actual practices. The most famous figure among them, according to some rare scholars, was a man named Lexus the Pure. Though there is no definitive evidence of his role as a cleric, some lore keepers believe he may have been one of Nazara’s devoted. Known to every bard, child, and parent in Kena'an, Lexus the Pure is celebrated as a great author and storyteller for the countless fairy tales attributed to him; tales that echo the values of hope, love, and the protection of children. Despite that, his true life remains shrouded in mystery.

From time to time ruins bearing Nazara's symbols resurface, yet no one has ever been able to fully decipher these ancient remnants. They remain enigmatic, offering only whispers of a past that has long since faded into legend.
