Vorcia

A species with clear genetic splicing in its origin, vorcias are also commonly referred to as werewolves or, less commonly, as wolf-men. Originating as spliced hybrids between humans and gray wolves (Canis lupus), they are distinctly wolf-like in appearance, despite their bipedal stance and more humanoid internal anatomy. They tend to be fairly tall, as well, adding to their intimidating appearance.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Owing to their hybrid origin, vorcias are distinctly wolf-like in appearance, although their internal anatomy is more human-like than one might expect. They are bipedal, and fairly tall, if not excessively so.   Vorcias have distinctly non-human faces, with short muzzles and sharp teeth, although their overall dentition is more like bears and thus suited to an omnivorous diet. Their canine teeth are elongated into fangs, but not exaggeratedly so. Their ears are pointed and wolf-like, but eyes are more human-like.   Their fingers are shorter and thicker than those of humans, ending in claws instead of blunt nails. They have paw pads on the tips of their fingers, as well as on the palm. Their feet are even more paw-like, but still somewhat resemble human feet, if digitigrade ones. Feet are also equipped with clawed toes and paw pads.   Unlike most humanoids, vorcias are not plantigrade. Their legs are digitigrade, and overall quite wolf-like. They also have wolf-like tails, with a thin core and a lot of hair.   Speaking of which, vorcias have thick fur growing on most of their bodies. While exact thickness will vary among individuals and seasons, it leaves them fully furred at all times, even while shedding. Their fingers and toes are bare, and their faces are partially hairless, especially around the eyes and on the muzzle (although exact placement varies). Their fur is also thinner on the belly and (lower) chest.   Vorcias grow their fur in a variety of wolf-like colors, such as black, gray, white, brown, and ginger/orange. Their skin, on the other hand, falls in human ranges, from pale to very dark brown. Eyes are most commonly some form of yellow, but can also be green or brown, or very rarely blue. Paw pads are always black, and so are the claws.
