Born to an influential and well respected family in Stretto, Goslan was the epitomy of refined. His interests and talents all aligned from a young age and he proved to have a sharp mind and quick wit when it came to inetpersonal connections. This was a very practical skill for him since his family was constantly vying for any scrap of power within the city and his parents were not above using him, even as a child, to gather information.
Despite being used as little more than a child-spy, his personal reputation somehow remained pristine among those closest to him as he got older. Cunning, ruthless, and even vindictive at times, Goslan did all things with a joke, a smile, and a sense of wit that entertained all who witnessed his brutal behavior. It often seemed that he could do no wrong in the eyes of the public because so many folk simply adored him.
In 4055 under great protest, Goslan was sent to Etude for higher education at age 13. Goslan was required to make the journey to Etude by horseback with a cadre of guards, which was not uneventful. It was the first time he'd been out of sight of the Stretto city walls and it made him very nervous, a fact that his guards took very seriously - most of his entourage had never known the boy be nervous about anything and it affected the entire trip.
He met the three children of Vikas Cleft while attending the Dannamore the following year.
