Personal history

He was a terrible student, specially in grammar and languages in general, but he had a gift for telling stories. Her parents though he had an impressive imagination, and the superstitious aunt though he was a foreseer of sorts, because a few of his stories would later occur to someone... except they didn't occur after, he just knew it before it became public.
He had a good eye.
And not much more. Still, he got a decent job at the age of nineteen, and has enough time to take care of his nephews and write a lot of short stories that are not as scary or heartbreaking as they could be.

He's friendly enough, but also very private; some would say he's distant. Others would call him warm instead, if they had find themselves in need of someone to cheer them up.
While he doesn't care for parties and group activities, he's happy to help with small things and he doesn't even knows how uncommon it is to smile to strangers or just listen to their problems. For him, it's just a small thing that requires no effort and doesn't helps as much as he would like.

Abigail met Alan's mom in her reading club; she introduce her to Alan when they became friends.
