Grand Haven is predominantly a human city, however it's doors are open to anyone who follows its basic laws which are the same as the Common Laws of Man as per Northern Nandaral
Almost all other races can be found in Grand Haven, including a small group of Elves that live near the largeset marketplace area.
Grand Haven is home to the Higher Courts which see any case from Grand Haven or any case that is considered a violation of the Common Laws of Man. Local towns may try their own offenders if they wish, or they can bring the individual to Grand Haven for Trial.

Demographics
There is definately a clear difference between the upper side of Grand Haven and the lower west side of Grand Haven. The richer families and societies live in the central and eastern areas of Grand Haven with your laborer and adventuring guilds in the upper north side. The poorest side of Grand Haven is by and large the lower west side. Originally a burial ground during the first war a lot of refugees were put up near the crypts because the locals didn't want to see the tent cities from their homes.
Government
The Government of Grand Haven is ruled by a King & Queen and when applicable a prince & princess.
At any point in history past the year 205 there is at least 3 local dukes near Grand Haven. Twelve Lords and/or Ladies also reside in the area and make up the council for Grand Haven. These Lords & Ladies are often leaders of local guild halls that have vested interests in Grand Havens sucess.
Taxation is requred of anyone who owns businesses or land within the area of Grand Haven (or its surrounding province). Taxes also apply to guests who stay for longer than half a year (5 months).
The Royal guard is in charge of protecting the castle in the center of Grand Haven. The city guard takes care of all matters outside of the castle.
There is a court system with a chief justicar and two judges.

This city has the largest amount of resources and buildings available in the Northern hemisphere. There are water & windmills, sewers, courtyards, blast furnaces, cobblestone roads in about 50% of the town. And while rare in most areas of the continent there is a sizeable magic shop named The Brass Hippogriff.

Tourism in Grand Haven is generally shopping, trade or religious based. There is over 14 different temples in Grand Haven, four open markets, and countless guilds and craftsmen.

The city boasts stone walls, stone castle and cobblestone streets for most areas.
Some Districts are better than others. The majority of districts in Grand Haven are well kept with paint being upkept, brightly colored doors, and some buildings have real glass windows.
The lower south side is a rougher neighborhood with smaller less equipped sewers, dirt roads, aging buildings with oiled thin leather for windows.
