Metalicity (meh-tahl-IH-sih-tee)

A common Gifted power, Metalicity is the the ability to control metal. Powerful Metalicitors are even able to create metal from nothing.

Effect

Metalicity allows the user to control metal by bending or twisting it into a different shape, as well as levitating it for a temporary time. The effects of the manipulation are permanent but can be reversed, prevented, or forced to be temporary with other enchantments. Some powerful Metalicitors are able to disintegrate metal into fragments and form new objects out of them. Metalicitors can also create metal, allowing all types to be renewable.
Metalicitors are common and accepted around the world because of the necessity of their power. They can control or create any type of metal, but some are considerably harder, such as gold, platinum, and silver, while iron, steel, nickel, and copper are preferred and easier. Metalicitors are also able to imbue metal with magical powers and can even combine metals to form new ones. All across the world, Metalicity is used to make all metal objects like rings, chains, cutlery, tools, mirrors, weapons, and armor.

Side/Secondary Effects

Metalicitors are vulnerable to Downsides  just like all Gifteds. The symptoms exhibited by them are mood swings, hallucinations, nausea, headaches, and other less known physical symptoms. As usual, the effects of Downsides vary depending on power strength. Aside from official Downsides, Metalicitors are known to be either more submissive or more violent than others.

Manifestation

Metalicity manifests visually, although screeching and cracking can occur depending on the manipulation. Metal will bend and shift, twisting and turning to obey the Metalicitor. Often the metal will also pull or lean toward the user before moving into its desired position.

Discovery

Metalicity was discovered sometime in the BEA 500s in Eterlania and has spread across the world, centralizing in Tierhal and Crystland in Narthica; Ilingua and Nuskia in Rushlinna; and Matalon, Brisa, and (formerly) Dalirn in Eterlania.

Applied Restrictions

Metalicity is accepted all over the world as being helpful in daily life as well as during special occasions. As such, there are few restrictions aside from required training and testing. Training must be completed before an official government-approved profession may be taken, but skilled or secret Metalicitors will sometimes avoid this.

The Rebellion of House Rivites

Kept secret among the royalty of Narthica's countries, House Rivites, a Metalicity family from Tierhal, was destroyed sometime in 2049 after the head, Lord Mikali, refused to attend a council held by King Carzonar. The king was furious at his orders being disobeyed and sent several messages to Lord Rivites. Only a few months later, Tierhalan soldiers stormed the stronghold of House Rivites and killed all the members. The house's lands were divided and given to others, and the heads of Rivites were never seen again.
