Antiparaslaadiline (an-tee-pa-rah-SLAW-dil-een)
Discovery
During the Trench Crisis the Mortals of Jeharr encountered a serious issue. Slaad, hulking vicious monsters from beyond Jeharr made for fierce opponents, each of them able to best several trained warriors, but their most dangerous aspect was their methods of reproduction. The brutish red and blue Slaad served as both Lech's frontline and the progenitors for new Slaad. Blue Slaad could afflict individuals with a transformative disease that killed in mere days and turned its victims into red Slaad. This transformation was fast, but could be countered with powerful healing magic and, importantly, it was apparent who had caught the disease because they had to have been in direct contact with a blue slaad. Red Slaad were another matter entirely. Just as blue Slaad were responsible for creating more red Slaad, the comparitively weaker red Slaad were responsible for creating new blue Slaad by infecting Mortals with eggs that could go unnoticed for several mensis (12-20 weeks) before suddenly killing and emerging from their victims as a tadpole that would soon turn into the more dangerous blue Slaad. The most dangerous thing about these eggs however, was the fact that the red Slaad would seek out bodies of water like lakes, wells, rivers, etc. and infest them with these eggs. The eggs could not affect wildlife, but were just as dangerous to Mortals as ever. This created a vicious cycle in which blue Slaad would rampage around, destroying whole settlements and creating red Slaad who would sow the seeds for similar future disasters that would come to pass even after Mortal heroes and soldiers arrived to wipe out the infestation. A solution needed to be found or else the Trench Crisis would continue to cause mass death and destruction for decades after it was ended by The Final Hour. A member of the enigmatic organization, The Order of Iron, fighting on the front line throughout the Trench Crisis would be the one the one to discover a solution. It was discovered that the communities that practiced the tradition of consuming "Angelsdew", a poultice made from a mixture of herbs and fermented fruit juice, caused a delay in the development and emergence of the Slaad eggs. While this initially caused more problems than it solved by causing even more unexpected Slaad outbreaks, it did indicate that something about Angelsdew was effecting the eggs in a way nothing else had thus far. Over the next year research performed by Julian Trosa and others produced Antiparaslaadiline and easy to make, refined version of Angelsdew that was 100% effective in destroying incubating Slaad eggs when taken early enough.Access/Availability
Antiparaslaadiline is extremely easily accessible by design as it could only be truly effective if anyone and everyone could get it given the hidden nature of Slaad eggs. Antiparaslaadiline is comprised of common herbs and fish oils, blessed by simple rituals that only require incense.Utility
Antiparaslaadiline is consumed once weekly by individuals in regions suspected of having a Slaad egg infestation. As long as infected individuals begin taking Antiparaslaadiline before the egg hatches, which occurs 24 hours before the emergence of the tadpole, the egg is destroyed.
