Festival of memories, like the name suggests, is a memorial festival. Practiced only by the Zoendol of the Coldol Empire. It's held for family of the recently deceased and involves an abundance of entertainments, promiscuous behavior, lights, and music. The festival is considered the final gift of the deceased.   The whole village the deceased is from and/or currently lives in is expected to attend. Most will plan their events ahead of time, hoping that things will be carried out by those they have asked to host the event. Hosting is a great honor and a responsibility taken very seriously. This is because if this party is not liked by almost everyone, the deceased is considered a failure.   Durring the party gifts are given to those considered family by the deceased. As the Zoendol people are well known for their weapons crafting, its not surprising that weaponry is involved in the ceremony. A sword of the finest quality is given to a person the deceased has chosen in advance. Some one they respect greatly, usually the host of the party but not always.

History

While the origins of the festival are unknown, the addition of the weapon is rumored to be started as a bit of a joke. Something along the lines of "Here's a weapon to protect you from the colossi that will be joining you". But over time it developed as a actual sentimental part of the party.

Components and tools

An intricate, well crafted sword.

Observance

Observed within a week the death of festival's focus. The festival will near always be preformed during the dead of night. This is because it is the time when there is the most danger, and thus it's shown as a respectful gesture. Since it is actually really risky, it's shown as a way of saying "We respect the deceased so much we are going to risk our lives honoring their memory."
