Angels

Angels are soldiers of the alliance. They are created by shards of divine power and serve their gods with loyalty to a fault. The Solars and Archangels were created with the gods as their agents. The rest were created by the Alliance to fight the war against the betrayers. The Angels do have free will but they have an obligation to the deity that created them. If an angel ever disobeys orders, this obligation vanishes and they are cast out of the divine realms and back to earth where they retain some of their power but none of their old benevolence. Angels are always lawful because their commitment to order best allows them to serve their deities better. Angels slay inherently evil beings without remorse, those being fiends, undead, and some aberations. For any other being they refuse to take their lives and instead make them atone for their sins. Angels who die are instead sent back to the divine realm of their creator where they take time to reform and heal from their ordeal. Angels are so beautiful in their divine might that most other beings feel an urge to cooperate with them when they descend from their heavenly realms. It takes a will of steel to resist the will of an angel. Angels can sometimes walk among humans without being noticed, having the ability to retract their wings and make their divine radiance less evident. In this form they appear as an aasimar does. Angels come in two types. Lesser angels serve as foot soldiers for the alliance and have a lesser degree of intelligence to the point where their obligation to the alliance overwhelms their own will and thus they are the most loyal of angels. Greater angels are more powerful and with a greater degree of intelligence allowing them to think on their own. These greater angels serve divine purpose and are individually powerful enough to challenge powerful fields on their own. Fallen angels are angels who have forsaken the will of their creator. They keep their wings and their strength but they lose their divine light and perfect appearance. Their angelic weapons damage turns to necrotic and their wings go jet black. They lose their healing touch ability and some of their magic but other than that they remain mostly angelic. Some of them live out the rest of their days in shame and repentance, helping mortals with the powers they have left. Some of them are consumed by a lust for revenge and try to exact vengeance on his god by either attacking their servants or destroying parts of their domain.   Lesser Angels:   Princips:   The least of the angels, princips are manifestations of divine right to rule. Princips appear to righteous creatures and give them instructions to take positions of power that would help the common folk. Princips are approximately the size of a human and always female. They have golden robes, shining skin and long golden hair that reaches down to their waist. Their wings are a shining gold that draws all eyes to them. They carry scepters as signs of their station and have the power to bestow magical crowns on their allies, protecting them from magic that would interfere with their minds. A crowned creature is signified with a flaming, golden crown above their heads and their eyes shoot out with golden light. They feel a rush of energy and one of their abilities is raised to almost god like levels. Although the least of the angels, princips serve a much needed role in furthering of the agenda of the alliance.   Authorities:   Authorities are the rank and file angels of the alliance. They smite evil creatures with their flaming swords and serve as inspiration for many orders of paladins. They are organized into wings of 25 angels, living and fighting in these wings. Wings of Authorities can appear spontaneously to defend good rulers from incursions of fiendish beings or to smite down an evil king. Authorities are human sized, slightly larger than princips, dark skinned with black plate armor and robes. Their wings are a mix of black and muted gold feathers. Their eyes glow with deep golden light although they lack the divine brilliance of other angels. They carry greatswords that dance with flame when they fight. Wings of them patrol the great wound, searching for fiends to slay.   Singers:   Celestial Singers are the word of their gods. They deliver divine justice and speak words against malpractice and the actions of fiends. They are female with glowing, bluish black hair and wings with a bluish tint. Their robes are deep sapphire and they are known to be especially dangerous for evil creatures, although they carry no weapons on them. Singers weave beautiful harmonies into their celestial voice. These songs have magical power in them and fiends find themselves vulnerable to banishment by the allies of the singers. They are deployed in groups of Authorities as support and usually keep their distance in fights, by use of their wings, while they rain down magical song from above. Singers lack the celestial radiance of other angels and thus are not as often noticed in these situations, adding to their survivability.   Judges:   Judges are the censures of the gods. They appear to express extreme disapproval of those who anger the alliance. They serve as the judge of the guilty, appearing with multiple Authorities who carry out the sentence that the judge passes upon them. They also serve as detectives, to hunt down and capture those who have angered the great and good gods of the alliance. They speak very cryptically and very harshly, often making proclamations instead of questions or statements. Judges are about 8 feet tall and have longer white hair with dark grey hooded cloaks that billow beneath them when they fly. Their eyes are the color of starfire and their wings are a dark gray, usually curled behind the judge as he delivers his verdict. Judges are also capable fighters and have the ability to blast their enemies with beams of celestial power, that harm fiends while healing allies at the same time.   Royals:   Royals are the guards and jailers of the alliance. They defend the home planes of the gods and also guard the prisons of evil creatures in the prisons of the alliance. They are harsh and unforgiving, following their instructions to the word. They are slightly larger than judges. They wear dark golden armor with black robe underneath them. Their eyes are fiery dots and their wings are wreathed in an eternal fire. They carry halberds that have a divine fire among them. Royals rarely appear outside of the allied planes of the alliance and when they do appear it is either as guards to a visiting god or to capture a evil creature deemed to dangerous to be free. These creatures are captured because dead creatures can be revived and killing fiends outside of their home plane has no effect. The prisons of the alliance do not have these downsides and creatures have never escaped from them.   Seraphs:   Seraphs are the greatest of the lesser angels, equal in power to the devas. They are commanders of the armies of the alliance, each seraph commands a wing of authorities. They fight alongside their troops, supporting them with their deadly swords of law and good. They are about the same size of judges, about 8 feet tall. They have shining golden armor, with white robes. They have 6 white wings that are reminiscent to the ones that the greater angels possess. Their shining golden eyes and the general light that emanates from them acts as a rallying cry for their fellow angels. They carry twin swords that shine with light, one symbolizes law and the other good. Creatures who find themselves encountering Seraphs find themselves faced with barrages of attacks from these swords or if they manage to get away, blasts of light from the swords.   Greater Angels:   Devas:   Devas are messengers of the gods. They act as guides to aasimar and clerics, using their divine knowledge to help mortals. Some of them remain in mortal form for many years, helping mortals in need and giving hearing to the sick. Some of them act like advisors while others fulfill the role of warriors, defending mortals from evil beings. Devas are usually morphed into the form of a mortal that corresponds to the realm that they are sent too. When in their true form, Devas have silvery skin, blond hair, and glowing eyes. Their wings are white and brown feathered and enveloping, they give off a bright light that strikes mortals who see it with waves of beauty. So beautiful are they that those who see them sometimes just stand awestruck, unable to move or think, overwhelmed by the majesty of this creature who greets them. While most Devas remain hidden and incognito, the Holy Nation of Elesland has a council of Devas that advise the vessel and help him rule. These Devas are representatives of the 8 gods who created the shelter during the sundering. They reside in the grand chamber of Elesland where they never leave.   Planetars:   Planetars are weapons of the god they serve. They act as their hand and their will. They might destroy the crops of a wicked village or fight of devils from a good one. Planetars can hear any lie that is said to them and see lying as among the worst things a person can do. Planetars are unique among angels in that they prefer to leave their wings out most of the time. Their wings are white and lack the light that comes from other gods, practical wings of warriors. They are green skinned and serious to a fault. They wield greatswords and take great joy in destroying fiends and undead, which they view as unholy creations in need of destruction. Planetars rarely remain in the material plane for long, appearing only to exact the vengeance of their gods among the enemies of the alliance. There was a flight of them that was stationed at the great wound to prevent the fiends from getting out and troubling mortals. 30 planetars are stationed at the great wound, commanded by a Solar. These Planetars are seasoned fighters and used to fighting the fiends who reside here. They wait in reserve for large numbers of fiends to be reported by the patrols at which time they attack with divine rage.   Solars:   Solars are the divine manifestations of a gods will. Every one of the original gods had a solar who answered to them, after the great scourge, the solars of the dead gods were driven insane and the ones of the imprisoned gods waited in quiet contemplation. The solars of the betrayers gods were corrupted by the fall of their gods and their souls were corrupted and they became the first pit fiends. When gods emerged from imprisonment during the sundering, solars rejoined their gods. As of right now there are 24 solars in the service of their gods. A solar is a being of near perfect appearance, usually with long hair and a white robe. Their wings are massive and enveloping, shining with the radiance of the sun. They are as strong as a dragon, smarter than beholders, and more charismatic than a sphinx. They carry their weapons in the form of light, they materialize in their hands when they need them. They usually use two types of weapons, a greatsword for standard fighting, and a slaying longbow for fighting fiends. A solar only ever uses its longbow if it's willing to kill.   Archangels:
The Stellar Matron eldest of the archangels who served as mother to the gods and later retired to the feywild. She is currently imprisoned within amber by Titania.   Zariel an archangel of Asmodeus that supported him in his bid to create a new world
Gadiel an archangel of Asmodeus that forsook him during the great scourge, this caused him to fall from grace and have his powers sapped away.
Adael an archangel of Ivella, she acts as a steward of the wild.
Aphelion an archangel of Osaldir and the greatest warrior angel, the champion of the alliance.
Ralthanael an archangel of Mualdir who acts as his steward and his voice to the rest of the universe.
